Fate Points

The Wildcards of The Paradigm

Epitomizes luck and destiny, allowing characters to nudge outcomes or grasp fleeting opportunities where normal code sequences fall short.

When a Fate Point is used, all dice rolled are replaced with the highest character roll thus giving the character a boost. Use them wisely as you don't get many of them!

  • Maximum Fate Points: (Character Level / 3, rounded down) + 1.
  • Regeneration: characters regain one fate point every 500 blocks, up their maximum allotment.
  • Purchase: additional fate points can be purchased, up the character's maximum allotment.

Example

A Warrior class character with the following abilities.

Affinity Energy Pool Level Base Dice
Security Mind 4 2d8
Stability Mind 5 5d4
Bandwidth Body 5 4d6
Processing Speed Body 7 5d8
Processing Power Soul 2 2d4
Latency Soul 7 4d10

Fate Points Example

Through calculation we arrive at the following.

  • Character Level: 5
    • 30/6 = 5, average rounded Down
  • Fate Points: 2
    • (Level / 3) + 1 = (4 / 3) + 1 = 2
