Gear Fit
Equipping gear is akin to loading software enhancements onto the character's bracer. Each equipped item applies its bonus dice power whenever a pertinent situation arises, boosting affinities, reducing travel times, and more.
Gear must be a proper fit for your character and its affinity levels. Without a proper fit, gear cannot be used by your character.
Power Tier
Characters have a Power Tier rating for each affinity.
A character can use (equip) gear with the same Power Tier rating or lower.
The item above could not be used by this character because its Power Tier is higher than the character's Stability affinity.
Character Class
Gear that is class specific can only be used by characters with that class. You can see this in the gear's Mod Target.
