Missions
Missions are a core game activity that helps your character gain experience, level up abilities and obtain loot (equippables, consumables, fusions, roots). Each mission has a set of hazards that must be completed that will test different abilities of your character. Complete all the hazards and you complete the mission!
Season 1 of Paradigm Found contains a series of twelve (12) core missions that start with "The Mirage of Chroma" at The Dreamweaver in The Dreamlands world and ends with "Once Again, The Paradigm Shifts" at the Dreadgate Keeper in The Dreamlands world. You can work through these missions in series and start over at the beginning after completing the last one.
Finding Missions
The Mission Log in your Bracer keeps a record of all completed missions and provides information on your next step in Season 1 missions.
- Next Mission: contextual clues to the next mission location is provided in the "Mission Follow-Up" section.
- Next hazard: instructions and a clickable button is provided in the "Next Objective" section.
Mission Start
Each time you start a mission you have a choice: the difficulty level (tier) you want to try the mission at. The higher the tier, the more difficult the mission will be and the more rewards you will receive. Mission difficulty should be the same tier as your character's abilities or higher.
You can abandon a mission at anytime and restart it with a different difficulty level.
See the Power System section for more information on this subject.
Hazard Completion
Each time you attempt to complete a hazard you are pitting the strength of one of your character's abilities against the hazard's difficulty level (tier).
As you start a hazard you make a choice on which of your character's abilities to use. This defines the "roll" your character will make. For this roll, the Base and Check dice are used of the ability you selected.
The hazard's "roll" is based on the mission difficulty level you selected.
The two rolls are then compared to see if you succeeded!
Hazard Success
Upon successful completion of a hazard your character will receive:
- XP: the ability you used will gain one XP point.
- Fast Codes: a random amount of Fast Codes based on mission tier.
- Loot: a random assortment of Roots, Fusions, Equippables, and/or Consumables based on mission tier.
Note: You will not receive XP in the following circumstances.
- The mission tier is lower than the chosen ability tier.
- The ability chosen needs to be leveled up.
Mission Success
Once you have completed all hazards for a mission, you can claim the rewards for that mission: loot.
