Path to Apprentice

Set a Goal!

All characters start at the Untrained tier, so let’s set the goal of getting to the next tier (Apprentice) for all the characters you selected.

Go on Missions

Going on missions gives you experience (XP), fast codes, and loot. The more missions you complete the faster your character will level up.

It's up to you to decide if/when you want to use fast codes to speed that process up.

Level Up

Each Affinity of your character can be leveled up individually. Each Affinity has a level and an amount of XP (out of 10) towards the next level. It is imperative that you Level Up as soon as you get 10 XP for a given affinity. If you don’t, you will not get XP on future missions for that Affinity until you do. You will see notifications above your Bracer when you need to Level Up .

Your Affinities can stay at Untrained tier until Level 6. This is controlled by what Level Up choice you make. We highly suggest choosing the recommended option until an Affinity is Level 5. Then choose the "More Potential" option during Level Up to switch tiers for that Affinity.

Your character's Level is the average of all its Affinity levels.

Craft & Gear Up

Gear can be used to increase your success rate on missions. You can craft, buy, and receive from mission loot. Ideally you want a piece of gear equipped for each of your Affinities.

A good list gear to start working on now for Untrained tier.

  • Brain Train - increases power
  • Staff of the Sheppard - increases bandwidth
  • Polysteel Dreadplate - increases security
  • Mission*Mate - increases speed
  • Giga Gem - increases stability
  • there is no Untrained item for latency

There is a special item that you can craft/buy that will help with travel speed.

  • REKTproof Roadmap

A good list gear to start working on later for Apprentice tier.

  • BaffleBot - increases latency
  • E-Pigeon Express - increases power
  • Ghost in the Machine - increases security
  • Pterodraftyl - increases speed
  • Gene$ense 30000 - increases stability
  • Tip Jar - increases bandwidth

You can purchase the items directly from shop using VESS.

You can craft these items using a two step process.

  • Craft Fusions from Roots you get from mission loot.
  • Craft Gear from Fusions.

See the Gear Reference for a list of all gear, where you can buy/craft, and where you can do that.

Recycle

To keep things simple in the beginning, if you can't use an item (i.e. equip it) you should just recycle it. This will give you back half the Roots that are needed to craft the item. As you collect Roots you can then go craft exactly what gear you want.

The Roots from recycling will go into your Storage Locker for safe keeping. When you want to craft something, stop by a FlashGo station to move our Roots from your Locker to your Bracer.

Collect Moss

Nobody knows exactly what it does, but it’s so much fun to try and collect. Stop in discord.gg/cyberbrokers and ask more about how to collect it.

Congratulations!

You should now have all the information you need to start your journey to Apprentice tier!

The next sections will cover key topics of the game in a little more depth.
